Green Key -hakualustaa on uudistettu vastaamaan muuttuvia raportointivaatimuksia ja helpottamaan yritysten vastuullisuustiedon hallintaa. Hakualustan uudistukset tukevat 27.9.2026 voimaan astuvaa EU-sääntelyyn perustuvaa lainsäädäntöä sekä tarjoavat Green Key -yrityksille uusia mahdollisuuksia hyödyntää omia vastuullisuustietojaan. Muutokset ovat myös osa Green Key -ohjelman ja kriteeristön uudistusta.
Yksi tärkeimmistä uudistuksista Green Key -hakualustalla on mahdollisuus syöttää yrityksen kulutustiedot suoraan alustalle ”Performance data” -osioihin. Tämä ei ole pelkästään hakemuksen täyttämistä varten – tiedoista on yritykselle merkittävää hyötyä myös sertifioinnin jälkeen.
Toinen tärkeä uudistus on Yrityksen tiedot -välilehden laajentuminen.
Uudistunut Yrityksen tiedot -välilehti
Yrityksen tiedot täytetään vain kerran ensimmäisen hakemuksen tai jatkohakemuksen yhteydessä. Tiedot säilyvät hakualustalla ja ovat valmiina tulevia Green Key -hakemuksia varten. Osa tiedoista on jo valmiiksi täytetty yrityksen puolesta.
Kun hakemus lähetetään, yrityksen tiedot siirtyvät myös BeCause.eco-alustalle.
Ensimmäisen täyttökerran jälkeen tietoja tarvitsee päivittää vain, jos yrityksen tiedoissa tapahtuu muutoksia.
Huomaathan: Aiemmin Yrityksen tiedot -välilehdelle ilmoitetut liikevaihto sekä majoitusvuorokaudet/kävijämäärät syötetään jatkossa hakualustan ”Performance data” -osioon.
Kulutustiedot kannattaa täyttää huolellisesti
Yrityksen energia-, vesi-, jäte- sekä muut kulutustiedot ja raportointikauden liiketoimintaa koskevat tiedot voidaan nyt syöttää Green Key -hakualustalla suoraan niille varattuihin ”Performance data” -kenttiin kunkin aihealueen alussa.
Kun yritykselle on myönnetty Green Key -sertifikaatti, hakualustalle syötetyt kulutustiedot siirtyvät automaattisesti BeCause.eco:on. Tietoja ei tarvitse syöttää uudelleen toiseen järjestelmään, mikä säästää aikaa ja vähentää manuaalista työtä.
Kulutustietojen täyttäminen Green Key -hakemukselle kannattaa nähdä investointina oman yrityksen vastuullisuuden kehittämiseen. Mitä kattavammat tiedot hakualustalle syötetään, sitä paremmin niitä voidaan hyödyntää myöhemmin esimerkiksi vertailuraporteissa, oman toiminnan seurannassa ja vastuullisuusviestinnässä.
Mikä on BeCause.eco?

1. Vertaa omaa ympäristötehokkuuttasi
- BeCause.eco tarjoaa yrityksille mahdollisuuden vertailla omaa energia-, vesi- ja muiden kulutustietojen kehitystä saman kategoriatyypin Green Key -yritysten keskiarvoihin sekä Suomessa että muissa Green Key -maissa.
- Vertailut auttavat tunnistamaan kehityskohteita, seuraamaan tavoitteiden toteutumista ja tukevat jatkuvaa vastuullisuustyötä.
2. Vähemmän päällekkäistä raportointia
- Kun kulutustiedot täytetään Green Key -hakualustalle, ne siirtyvät automaattisesti BeCause.ecoon sertifioinnin myöntämisen jälkeen. Samoja tietoja ei tarvitse ylläpitää useissa eri järjestelmissä, mikä vähentää hallinnollista työtä ja virheiden mahdollisuutta.
3. Hallitse vastuullisuustietojasi yhdessä paikassa
- BeCause.eco kokoaa yrityksen vastuullisuuteen liittyviä tietoja yhteen palveluun. Tämä helpottaa tiedon ylläpitämistä ja hyödyntämistä sekä tukee vastuullisuusraportointia tulevaisuudessa.
4. Green Key -sertifikaatti näkyviin Booking.comiin
- BeCause.eco kautta yritys voi hallinnoida Green Key -sertifikaattinsa näkyvyyttä myös Booking.comissa. Kun yritys aktivoi BeCause-profiilinsa ja lisää sinne Booking.comin Property ID -tunnuksen, sertifikaattitieto voidaan näyttää automaattisesti majoituskohteen Booking.com-sivulla. Näin matkailijat näkevät helposti yrityksen riippumattomasti varmennetun vastuullisuussertifikaatin.

The Green Key online application tool has been updated to meet changing reporting requirements and make it easier for establishments to manage their sustainability data. The updates support new legislation based on EU regulations that will enter into force on 27 September 2026 and provide Green Key establishments with new opportunities to make better use of their sustainability data. The changes are also part of the wider renewal of the Green Key programme and criteria.
One of the most important updates to the Green Key online application tool is the possibility to enter the establishment’s consumption data directly into the “Performance data” sections. This information is not collected solely for the purpose of completing the application – it can also provide significant benefits to the establishment after certification.
Another important update is the expansion of the Organization details form.
Updated “Organization details” form
The information on the Organization details form only needs to be completed once, when submitting the first application or renewal application. The information will remain on the online application tool and will be available for future Green Key applications. Some of the information has already been pre-filled for the establishment.
When the application is submitted, the information on the Organization details form will also be transferred to the BeCause.eco platform.
After the form has been completed for the first time, the information only needs to be updated if there are changes to the establishment’s details.
Please note: Turnover and the number of overnight stays/visitors, which were previously entered on the Organization details form, should from now on be entered in the “Performance data” section of the online application tool.
Make sure to complete your consumption data carefully
The establishment’s energy, water, waste and other consumption data can now be entered directly into the designated “Performance data” fields at the beginning of each relevant section of the Green Key online application tool.
Once the establishment has been awarded the Green Key certification, the consumption data entered on the online application tool is automatically transferred to BeCause.eco. There is no need to enter the same information again in another system, saving time and reducing manual work.
Completing the consumption data in your Green Key application should be seen as an investment in developing your establishment’s sustainability performance. The more comprehensive the data entered on the online application tool, the better it can be utilised later, for example in benchmarking reports, monitoring your establishment’s performance and sustainability communications.

Once consumption data has been entered on the Green Key online application tool, it is automatically transferred to BeCause.eco after the Green Key certification has been awarded. The same information does not need to be maintained in multiple systems, reducing administrative work and the risk of errors.
3. Manage your sustainability data in one place
BeCause.eco brings together an establishment’s sustainability-related information in one platform. This makes it easier to maintain and utilise the data and supports future sustainability reporting.
4. Make your Green Key certification visible on Booking.com
Through BeCause.eco, establishments can also manage the visibility of their Green Key certification on Booking.com. Once an establishment activates its BeCause profile and adds its Booking.com Property ID, the Green Key certification can be automatically displayed on the establishment’s Booking.com page. This makes it easy for travellers to see that the establishment holds an independently verified sustainability certification.
